Sophie Turner, better known as Sansa Stark (especially now) from HBO’s Game of Thrones, has officially declared that she will not work in any American states that have implemented abortion bans.
Note, America is underlined because Northern Ireland, where a large majority of Sansa’s scenes were filmed have banned abortions almost completely. “There was a lot of work on ‘Game of Thrones” there,’ the British-born actress said. “So luckily we’re moving on.” Phew! Don’t have to be a hypocrite anymore!
These protests are largely in response to Georgia’s fetal heartbeat bill, which bans abortions after a heartbeat can be detected, usually around six weeks.
The state relies heavily on the film and TV industry so actors from all over, including other countries get to hold state economies hostage while firing ordinary workers in the industry.
Ms. Turner will join Alyssa Milano, Jessica Chastain, Ben Stiller, Don Cheadle, Sophia Bush, Mia Farrow, Rosie O’Donnell, Sean Penn, Amy Schumer and Gabrielle Union in their boycott of honest people doing honest work.
If anything these situations really force states to second guess a decision to wade into the film industry. “If a handful of people don’t like what we want our state, what will keep them from deciding to destroy our jobs and our economy? Some of them aren’t even American citizens!”
If I cared about what a whiny queen thought about my country, I’d probably watch anything else she’s ever acted in.
And another thing too, when’s the last time the people of Georgia tried to change the laws in Hollywood? Yeah, that’s what I thought.
