AOC is either Bipolar or a Hypocrite
She has to be one or the other for all the flip flops
AOC (Absolutely One Con) otherwise known as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, is at it again. She is contradicting herself on one of the very parental rights that she rails against. More on that, further below.
Ever since AOC entered office, she has continued to criticize the very things that have helped her and her family succeed in America. She has talked about the evils of capitalism but worked as a cocktail waitress who made money through capitalism. She has bashed America for attacking Iran and their human rights abuses but she as a woman would not be able to speak up in a Islamic society. She sure has the freedom to speak against America here at home though. She has trashed America pulling out of the Paris Accord even though America’s Emissions have dropped even more since pulling out and is now one of the lowest emissions producer of all industrialized nations. She speaks of America’s evils but she has profited off everything about America.
Now she has been caught again. She has been critical of school choice vouchers that parents who are able to use them, cherish so much. School vouchers can help pull their children out of the failing public school system and send their kids to private schools, charter schools, religious schools, etc. . Yet a 2017 Facebook live video has surfaced from her account where she brags about getting her goddaughter into a charter school. She also admitted in a another 2019 meeting of the American Federation of Teachers that her cousins children also attend charter schools.
The public school system has been failing for years. In Arizona for example, educators and politicians participated in the “Red for Ed” sham and our politicians gave in to the hysteria and throw more money towards the school system. Yet since then, reports show that Arizona’s school system is now performing even worse. The graduation rate has dropped, graduates are now less likely to move on to a college or university, SAT and other tests scores are dropping further. Report after report, Arizona is ranking lower and lower in states educational statistics.
Of course, most Americans believe in better Education. This is why the “Red for Ed” campaign was so successful in helping the public believe more money was needed for teachers. However, most of the money went to administrators instead. Of the very little money that actually went to teachers, it went to teachers who were under performing and performing alike. If students cant even graduate with reading and writing skills, why should their teachers be rewarded with a pay raise?
A majority of Americans don’t believe that we should just throw money at public schools. They are failing our students. The are also becoming more and more unsafe. Money is not the solution. For example, my mother attended a one room school house that taught kids from first grade up to high school. She went on with that education she received to become accepted to Drake University and graduated with top honors. She did not need an elaborate school building, teachers paid high salaries or expensive books and supplies in order to gain a incredible education. Even at Drake, her education did not cost outrageous amounts of money at the time.
In the last year, AOC has gone after public vouchers hard. She has claimed during a 2019 town hall that “one of the greatest gems of public good in the United States” What she really means is that investing in public schools and eliminating public vouchers will strengthen teachers unions. American’s are also waking up to the indoctrination of students in public schools. Whether it is gender free bathrooms, trans participation in sports, the green new deal, democratic leaning lectures, or sex education at the age of six. Americans want to send their children to schools that teach what is needed in life such as reading, writing, math, history, etc. These basic cores should be free of opinion and only taught facts. The “beliefs” taught to any child should be left to the parents.
If AOC believes so strongly that public schools are good enough, safe enough or the best interest for her goddaughter to attend, why did she instead work hard to get her goddaughter admitted to a charter school. Furthermore, why did she brag about it on Facebook live? My hunch is that she did this before realizing that the Unions would be a cash cow for her campaigns and also before she realized that Socialists view public schools as a tool to indoctrinate the youth.
Just chalk this up to another hypocritical “do as I say but not as I do” statement from a out of touch liberal politician who wants to control your kids thoughts and actions but not her own families.
