After stirring up rallies about across New York screaming socialist gibberish, Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon is finally leaving the citizens of New York alone.
An interview with the Huffington Post at the Tribeca Film Festival revealed that she’s a pretty over being a politician which is pretty good, after her loss to Andrew Cuomo last year.
“It’s very hard to go against such a powerful incumbent,” she said. “That’s one of the things that gave me the ability to do it: If I did not get elected, I could pretty much go back to my life. That enabled me to go out on a limb the way a lot of people who might’ve wanted to do what I did didn’t feel like they could.”
Despite all this, I can’t imagine we’ve heard the last from her after her very extreme plans for a single-payer health care system and universal rent control. Apparently property rights mean nothing to a woman who’s been empowered!
Now that she’s back on the red carpet, let’s hope she stays there. And for those who didn’t even know she was running, be grateful.
