Hollywood Eats Its Own A new movie by Quintin Tarantino produced by David Letterman
You either love him or you hate him, but David Letterman was one of the most successful late-night TV hosts in America. In his early days, his comedy was on queue and made audiences laugh. In his later career, he became polarized politically, stale and read jokes that were not funny but paused to give audiences a reminder that they should laugh at the late-night king’s jokes.
However, David Letterman is claiming something that is no laughing matter. It is probably no surprise that he has pissed off one or two celebrities either through jokes or through interviews since he has had thousands of shows under his belt.
In a recent interview on Showtime’s Desus & Mero, he tells a story of how Quentin Tarantino
threatened to kill him over some candid comments that David made. According to David, he made some comments that an attractive Hollywood starlet (unnamed) would not date someone like Tarantino because he was not “cool enough” or “attractive enough” for her.
According to Letterman, Tarantino called and “He started screaming at me, I’m gonna beat you to death, I’m gonna kill you, I’m coming to New York, and I’m gonna beat the crap out of you. How can you say that about me?” David had his producer listen in on the conversation to witness the threat.
Now Quintin on the other hand has declined to make any comments. It is no surprise that he would act in such a way though with his movies always having a violent theme to them. Have you ever noticed that Academy Award winners often win top prizes for outstanding work in their field for something that they often exhibit outside of work? For example, Meryl Streep often wins best actress for being a bitch. Reports by those who work with her as well as even her own daughters say she is very difficult, a nice term for the word bitch. The same with many other starts. Is it outstanding work to just be yourself? In other words, Quintin has directed many violent films. He cant seem to direct a film without any violence. A truly talented director would be able to work across many types of work. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy many of his films. I am just saying that its not a far stretch to believe that he is a violent person in real life as well.
However, it is Ironic that someone from Hollywood like David Letterman would say that someone like Tarantino could not land someone beautiful. He is no “looker” himself. Have you seen him lately? He looks like the Unabomber. He has a beard that rivals any member of the duck dynasty clan, maybe even ZZ Top but just can’t get away with the look. For those of us who despise egotistically Hollywood celebs, we grab the popcorn and love seeing Hollywood eat their own alive like David and Quintin. I sure hope there is a sequel to this saga.
