Mexico Demands Probe Into Obama’s Fast and Furious
So some idiot in the Obama administration thought it would be clever to name an insane undercover program, “Fast and Furious” after the popular movie series. It shows that they did not even take the possible consequences serious. They would rather have a illegal program with the name from the movie series about drugs and gun running rather than evaluate the program and how it should be run successfully. Instead, we now know the illegal program took many innocent lives, including American Boarder Patrol Agent Brian Terry,
To refresh your memory, Eric Holder and Barack Obama came up with an idea to target the Mexican cartel leaders. However, the program backfired and most of the guns ended up in the hands of common criminals. The guns were designed to be traceable and help locate where the Cartels where on any given day. They had hoped the idea would wipe out illegal arms trafficking and the Mexican drug cartels. The program ran between 2006 and 2011 officials let the guns be purchased and to go across the boarder into Mexico. The idea was to let the guns reach the drug cartels so they could be arrested. All in all, over 2,000 guns were allowed to cross the boarder. Many were semiautomatic rifles and armor piercing handguns.
Rather than reach the intended cartel members, the guns were taken only be low level drug dealers and criminals who in turn killed at least 150 innocent Mexican citizens. The true number is actually believed to be several times that number. More importantly, from a U.S. perspective, it took the life of one of our heroic boarder patrol agents.
Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador sent a diplomatic correspondence to the Trump administration to request more information and details of the operation that failed so miserably. He also wants to know if U.S. officials within the operation were linked to former Mexican security minister Genaro Garcia Luna, who was arrested in December of 2019 for taking bribes from drug cartel leaders.
President Lopez Obrador has explained that the program was a violation of Mexican sovereignty as the U.S. knowingly allowed illegal smuggling on both sides of the boarder.
The Obama admin’s corruption continues to be exposed. Hopefully justice will prevail for all lives lost during this tragic and insane plan.
