Seattle Mayor Touts Summer of Love – But It Doesn’t Turn Out That Way.
Democrat Seattle mayor Jenny Durkan, tried to make lemonade out of lemons last week by proclaiming that CHOP (Capital Hill Occupied Protest) formerly known as CHAZ (Capital Hill Au Autonomous Zone) was a gathering of peaceful protesters celebrating a “Summer of Love” as though they were at Woodstock. She then insulted the LGBTQ community by saying that the protest camp was similar to Pride by stating that there was nothing but love being shared. She even compared it to a block party.
Durkan’s intentions were to let rioters cause destruction to the economy in an effort to hurt President Trump but at the same time, pander to a group of potential voters. Just weeks earlier, she was critical and tyrannical of those who needed to return to work in an effort to feed their families and pay bills who attempted to violate stay at home orders for the Chinese virus epidemic. She used an iron fist to squash any peaceful protesters of her stay at home orders. She even extended the orders from May 6th to May 31st. However that all changed with the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis Minnesota.
Like any far left socialist opportunist that follows Sal Alinsky, they never leave any crisis go by without using it to push a socialist agenda forward. Suddenly to meet her agenda, it became acceptable for people to gather in the streets and ignore social distancing, not wear face masks, riot, burn and loot the city. She even stopped wearing a face mask herself which can be seen in our article lead image. When she was interviewed on CNN about her hypocrisy, she simply pandered to the rioters to allow them to take over her city. She believed they would help shoe her in for another term. The Seattle mayor even brought in portable toilets and the liberal governor helped replace fencing with concrete barricades to help support the rioters. They are even providing free utilities. Well, not free actually, the tax payers are picking up the tab. No surprise though, it quickly and predictably backfired.
As you can imagine, the “Autonomous” zone quickly turned into a horror story right out of “The Lord of The Flies” or “The Beach”. The protesters took over Capital Hill in Seattle stating it would be a new country with new laws and with no racism. However, it quickly descended into chaos with rapes, assaults, robberies, vandalism, fires, killings and reverse racism.
Just like the movies mentioned, a warlord quickly rose to power. His name is Raz Simone a self proclaimed rapper. He quickly installed a dictatorship by putting up fencing and proclaiming the ever growing area as a new country that does not recognize United States laws. Ironic since most of these individuals hate president Trump for trying to build a secure boarder along Mexico and the U.S. Simone quickly formed an armed militia that protected the CHOP boarders. He also banned police from entering the area and per Durkans orders, the police have stood down to avoid conflict. One has to wonder where the guns came from and if they are legal. We here at America Against Hollywood are willing to bet that the guns were not licensed or that any of these individuals were the legitimate owners of these guns.
The area quickly descended into violence. They stole land from tax payers and prevented legitimate store owners from operating or allowing customers to access the stores. The “peaceful” protesters began to loot the local business for food and product for their new city. They offered the homeless to come in and eat for free. The food quickly depleted and helped fuel the violence. At first it started off small with dumpster fires and spray painted slogans on anything that did not move. The warlord then proceeded to decree any white person in the area should pay $10 to any black person they meet. Hmm, sounds like reverse racism. They said that those in the new zone would not be above the law but looted stores. They even limited free speech. If you disagree with Simone or how the zone is being run, you are quickly escorted out.
Then the reports of rapes, assaults and now even killings have emerged. The “Summer of Love” has quickly and predictably painted the mayor into a corner. Business are leaving the state. One important business is a billion dollar investment company, Smeed Captial is pulling out and moving to Phoenix Arizona. Buffalo Industries, who has been in the area since the 1940’s is another. Buki clothing, Lime Bikes and many others are leaving also. The most hurt by they tyranny are the small business owners who barely survived Covid and now are losing major dollars to the zone. They are closing up shop faster than Nancy Pelosi trying to stand after kneeling for black lives matter. This follows mega businesses like Boeing who have already downsized or left Seattle due to its toxic business environment. Not only are businesses leaving in droves, so are residents.
Now the mayor has been painted into a corner like we mentioned. Should she still support the protesters or should she return law and order? Even the extreme liberal mayor Ted Wheeler of Portland, has slammed Durkan for letting her city fall. Bikers like Hells Angels have formed a group of thousands that plans to descend upon Seattle on July 4th to retake the city. With this weeks rapes and shootings causing at least one known death, it has finally pushed the mayor to declare she will dismantle CHOP.
In a statement, Durkin said “The cumulative impacts of the gatherings and the protests and the nighttime atmosphere and violence has led to increasing difficult circumstances for our businesses and residents. The impacts have increased and the safety has decreased.” It does not take anyone with a brain to predict that would have occurred from the beginning. Obviously she does not have a brain.
Durkin’s plan to seize on the power of the protests backfired more than Uncle Buck’s 1977 Mercury Marquis Brougham in the movie “Uncle Buck”. She now faces a tight timeline to dismantle most likely in an effort to thwart possible violence from the bikers retaking her city from the armed militant CHOP thugs. Just like any good soap opera, although this one is violent, we will watch as the drama continues to unfold.
